mimoYmima is a web design studio based in Brooklyn, NY. We create unique websites that play off the strengths of HTML and Flash to give the best user interaction possible without sacrificing accessibility or SEO.
So once upon a time, there was this guy, mimo, who after years of successful work at large web design & technology agencies in Manhattan, decided to team up with his wife, mima, an advertising transplant from Spain, to start their own company… and that’s how mimoYmima was born, back in 2003.
It’s not just the two of us anymore, we regularly work with a group of amazingly talented people who you can read about on our team page
The word ‘mimoYmima’ is not Japanese. It’s a made-up word we created from the Spanish word ‘mimo’, which means something like ‘a good feeling’ or ‘affection’. Then ‘mima’ is the made-up feminine version, and the Y brings them together as it means ‘and’ in Spanish. So it’s a happy place, basically.
We’re proud fans of the neighborhood we live and work in. The Park Slope / Windsor Terrace area of Brooklyn has been our home since 2004. We love working with local clients and being part of the community. Check out some of our latest sites for Brooklynites.
We try to make all clients happy, no matter how big or small. Read what they have been saying about our work: Testimonials

A lot of people ask us why our dancing flower doesn’t have any eyes. Another good question to ask would be ‘why does the flower have a mouth?’, but we never get asked that question.
